Speaker: Marco Miserocchi - Friday 1 March 2013 Auditorium of the Piacenza and Vigevano Foundation - Piacenza Organized by the Piacenza Astrophiles Group - www.astrofilipc.it There are areas of the universe that we will never be able to observe or know, not because our telescopes are not powerful enough, or the instruments are not sensitive enough, or our minds are too limited, but because they are beyond what astrophysicists call the “event horizon”, a physical limit, a wall that no type of information can cross. But what is an event horizon really and what is beyond that wall? Does our universe extend to infinity? Are there other universes? Can we hope to one day peer beyond the final horizon, beyond the end of space and the beginning of time?
