About :

ESCURIAL FARM Itaporanga D'ajuda - SE 1830 A spectacular farm, a well-preserved heritage and a rich historical part of the sugar era in Sergipe. The founder of this property was none other than the well-known and very influential Baron of Estância. The current owner, José Wilson, bought the farm from the 6th generation of the Baron of Estância, who has taken splendid care of this wealth and envisions an incredible project for the Escurial Farm, together with the Vidam Hotel and the Vidam Náutico. The main house of the Escurial is a testament to the preservation and vitality of historical monuments, architecture and sugar furniture. Its floor plan is square and its architectural volume has 2 floors. Around it, there is a railing imported from the period and its façade is composed of rigorous symmetry, with round arches in the windows that give it a charming look. Something interesting is that around 1860, D. Pedro II visited the farm and objects such as his bed, his sword and his clothing still remain in the house. Inside the house, the floor is made of hydraulic tiles and there is a variety of period furniture. One of the distinguishing features of this house is the feeling of being in the past, because inside everything is still in its proper place, with many items that belonged to the former residents. Some examples of this are the books with writings by the baron himself, a safe with many letters and stamps, a very charming Austrian-style piece of furniture and furniture with a lion's paw symbolizing nobility. In the center of the house there is a beautiful chapel that has been completely restored and has many details. It is important to mention that there was the marriage of Dona Amélia Dias, daughter of the Baron of Estancia, with the son of the Baron of Japaratuba, thus uniting two houses of the Sergipe barony. Outside the mansion there is still a remnant of this ancient era, namely the chimney and the old sugar mill. The mill is currently being used as a corral, but will soon be transformed into a restaurant. This spectacular farm will soon be open for visits, to the delight of history lovers.
