Nine-year-old Kassandra from Velbert-Neviges disappears without a trace; she doesn't come home from homework supervision. The police begin to investigate and search for the girl in the small town with search dogs and helicopters. After seven hours, a search dog finally strikes. Kassandra is discovered in a drain. She is seriously injured and completely hypothermic - her body is covered in stones. She undergoes emergency surgery in hospital and falls into a coma. The evidence points to attempted murder. After a manhunt lasting several days, the man is arrested. But who the police arrest is another shock for the town and its residents: the prime suspect is a child himself and only 14 years old. He is said to have beaten Kassandra and then thrown her into the sewer shaft. Our host Riem has looked into Kassandra's case. To uncover the background, she spoke to Ulrich Löhe from the Mettmann police about the search for the nine-year-old. He also provides insights into the investigation. The lawyer Holger Boden, who represented Kassandra's family in court, also provides insights into the family's emotional state and the trial. -------- Table of contents: 0:00 Intro 0:43 The disappearance of Kassandra 2:10 The rescue 7:44 The investigation 11:47 The arrest 14:58 The trial 16:43 The motive 18:27 The verdict 19:16 The perpetrator 22:08 How is Kassandra doing today? 23:52 Conclusion ____ If you are interested in other criminal cases from NRW, follow our channel ➡️ / @lokalzeit-mo. .
