A large cloistered monastery where 70 nuns live their isolation. This is part of what we found during our visit to the island of San Giulio, a small strip of land that emerges in the heart of Lake Orta, in the province of Novara. Despite its size, the island is full of stories and legends. We discovered them thanks to Alessandra who has been a guide on the lake for many years. In addition to the monastery, there are only two businesses: The ancient shop of Mrs. Maria Antonietta The San Giulio Restaurant where we ate very well, run by two young and enthusiastic guys.
