Do we know our roommates? - Microbiome and us: What tastes good to a good microbiome The well-known saying says "You are what you eat", and from the point of view of our microbiome, we cannot help but agree with it. The way we eat is one of the main external influences that influence the composition and activity of our microbial housemates in adulthood. In this lecture of the series "Microbes and us", we will think about how our current diet differs from what our ancestors mainly ate, and what effects our current lifestyle has on the activity of our intestinal microbiome. We will also briefly touch on how current popular nutritional trends affect the state of our intestinal microbiome. Lecturer: RNDr. Monika Cahová, PhD. The lecture was organized by the Municipal Library in Prague in cooperation with the Czech Microbiome Society ČLS JEP in the Central Library on September 13, 2022.
