One of the great modern symbols, Heineken Beer has been conquering the world and more recently also the palate of Brazilians. The beer in the green bottle has a characteristic taste that has been present for over 100 years and it all started in Holland on February 15, 1864 when Gerrard Adriaan Heineken, a 22-year-old young man, saw the opportunity to have his own brewery. With the help of his mother, he managed to raise the necessary capital to acquire a small brewery in Amsterdam called De Hooiberg. The brewery had been founded in the 16th century and its most famous drink was known as the worker's beer, because it was extremely cheap and used the least possible resources. The aim of the place was mass production, with little concern for the creation of a brand, for example. In addition to traditional beer, they also produced 6 other varieties. After acquiring the facilities, Heineken wanted to do something different; He wanted the beer to be produced for consumption by Dutch nobles and to this end he carried out a series of renovations to the factory structure, which only returned to operation in 1868. Little is known about Heineken's origins and his occupations before the factory, but his ancestors had already mastered the art of brewing since the Heinekens had a brewery in the city of Bremen, Germany, in the 18th century. However, his grandfather had moved from Germany to the Netherlands to become a farmer specializing in dairy products, with a special focus on cheese and butter. This activity was also carried out by Gerard's father, Cornelius Heineken. Returning to his origins, Heineken resumed the trade of his ancestors and even without previous experience in the area, he knew that it was necessary to position the future product in order to have an immensely profitable activity, but to do so he would also have to improve his knowledge of beer. Because of this, he traveled around Europe in search of ingredients, production methods and technologies that would give him the know-how needed to produce memorable beers. In this search, he learned a process in Germany that produced the drink through base fermentation, something that made German beers much more appreciated than others. In addition to learning from the references of the European market, he also decided to hire the German Wilhelm Feltman to be responsible for fermenting the beers at his factory. Feltman was also young like Heineken, but he had a lot of experience as a master brewer and shared Heineken's vision about the possibilities of a business. Their motto was: ''What seems impossible today will be common practice in just a few years''. ✅ Passo a Passo Empreendedor is a Business channel that promotes Entrepreneurship through Business Stories, Sales Strategies, Management, Marketing and everything that involves Companies, Entrepreneurs, Capital Markets, Stock Exchanges, Economy, Shares and Investments.
