It is based on the novel Oh Islam by Ali Ahmed Bakthir. Jalal al-Din ibn Khwarazm Shah fled with his daughter Jihad and his nephew Mahmoud with Sheikh Salama after his defeat by the Tatars, but Salama was forced to sell them in the slave market after he marked both children and sold them there. Time passed until Qutuz (Mahmoud) became a slave of Prince Izz al-Din Aybak and Gulnar (Jihad) became a dancer for Queen Shajarat al-Durr. Qutuz met Baybars, who was one of the slaves of Prince Faris al-Din Aqtai, and Aybak and Aqtai began their attempts to marry Shajarat al-Durr to obtain the throne. She married Aybak and killed Aqtai for fear that he would revolt against her. She later killed Aybak because he wanted the throne, which made Aybak’s widow try to kill Shajarat al-Durr. After a deadly quarrel between them, they were both killed. Then the Tatar messengers arrived and the throne of Egypt was empty of a sultan. Qutuz advanced to the throne and the entire people agreed with him, but he hesitated to enter the battle for fear of the people. Sheikh al-Izz ibn Abd al-Salam, Sheikh Salama, and his wife Gulnar were able to convince him of the necessity of entering the battle, so he decided to lead the Muslim army with Baybars and fight it against the Tatars. And he defeats them in Ain Jalut. ـــــ Starring: ︵‿︵ ♦ Ahmed Mazhar as Mahmoud - Saif El-Din Qutuz. ♦ Lobna Abdel Aziz as Jihad - Gulnar. ♦ Farid Shawqi as Beltay. ♦ Rushdi Abaza as Rukn El-Din El-Zahir Baybars. ♦ Emad Hamdi as Ezz El-Din Aybak. ♦ Mahmoud El-Meligy as Fares El-Din Aqtay. ♦ Tahia Carioca as Queen Shajarat El-Durr. ♦ Hussein Riad as Sheikh Salama. ♦ Abbas Fares as Sheikh El-Ezz Bin Abdel Salam. ♦ Zouzou Hamdi El-Hakim as Engy, the Queen's maid of honor. ♦ Naima Wasfi as Ezz El-Din Aybak's first wife. ♦ Mohamed Sobeih as Katbugha. ♦ Mohamed Hussein as Mahmoud - Little Qutuz. ♦ Noso Hussein as Jihad - Little Gulnar. ♦ Nazim Shaarawy as Jalal ad-Din ibn Khwarazm Shah. ♦ Hussein Ismail as the slave seller. ♦ Adel Attia as the Crusader leader. ــــ ♦ Directed by: Enrico Bomba, Andrew Morton, Shady Abdel Salam ♦ Story by: Ali Ahmed Baktheer ♦ Screenplay by: Robert Andrews ♦ Dialogue by: Youssef El Sebaei ــــ Wa Islamah (Oh Islam) - Movie: ︵‿︵‿︵‿ Oh Islam (Arabic: وا اسلاماه, translit.
