The investigative editors of NOS and Nieuwsuur investigated the cash flows between doctors and medical companies. Thanks to previously hidden figures, we discovered that dozens of cardiologists receive millions of euros from medical companies, without their hospitals knowing about it. And that is against the rules. Officially, all payments to doctors, hospitals and other organizations must also be listed in the Healthcare Transparency Register. But contrary to what the name suggests, our investigation revealed that the register is not at all transparent.
