This is a documentary about the history and present of Beomeosa Temple, the fundamental temple of the Buddha, a place of prayer and practice for the four great groups that have protected Korean Buddhism for 1,300 years. Beomeosa Temple not only had a limited function as a religious center for the local community, but also had the function of a national support temple that was responsible for the safety of the East Sea coast at a national level. During the Imjin War, Seosan Daesa used Beomeosa Temple as a headquarters for his monk army activities, and during the March 1st Movement during the Japanese colonial period, students studying here initiated the independence movement called the 'Beomeosa Hakrim Uprising' and made the Taegeukgi (Korean national flag) that would be used nationwide at the Beomeosa Temple hermitage. They also took the lead in the Buddhist promotion movement and the modern education movement by establishing missionary churches in Seoul, Dongrae, Gimhae, etc. We captured the monks who were diligently practicing at the Buddhist University, including Master Jiyu, who often prepared food for his students. #Beomeosa #Buddha's Birthday #Seonbuljang ●Subscribe to BTN Buddhist TV YouTube https://bit.ly/3k5nt10 (Click the link and click the subscription button!) ●Join BTN Buddha Association 1855-0108 (Regular sponsorship) Regular sponsorship from Buddhists is a great help in spreading the Buddha's teachings.
