The 2021 flood and the devastating destruction in the Euskirchen district and surrounding area On the night of July 14th to 15th, 2021, the flood came and caused unimaginable damage in western Germany. This also happened in my home district of Euskirchen. When we saw the damage the next morning and the first news of human casualties made the rounds, we began to understand the full extent of the catastrophe - even though other areas had been hit much harder, such as the neighboring Ahr valley. This video consists largely of excerpts from videos posted on YouTube, plus my own clips and my music. As a hobby musician and composer, I felt the need to process and share what I experienced musically. I have listed the sources of the videos used below. This compilation is intended to remind us of the terrible events... Even after a year, the damage in some areas is still enormous.
