The fireworks disaster in Seest took place on 3 November 2004. The documentary depicts the violent explosion at the fireworks factory NP Johnsens Fyrværkerifabrik, which resulted in extensive destruction in the area. It cost the life of a firefighter, and left lasting scars on both the local community and the people involved. The documentary goes close to the personal stories of residents, emergency workers and the rescue workers who experienced the disaster up close. It focuses on the long-term consequences that those involved still live with, including PTSD, anxiety attacks and emotional scars. The documentary is both a historical and emotional account of the aftermath of the disaster and the human costs that are still felt 20 years later.
