Good evening everyone, March 8th of this year marked the 40th anniversary of a tragic train accident in the Brandsen district. We are talking about that night when a train bound for Constitución collided with a petroleum wagon from a freight train that had derailed and subsequently jumped onto the opposite track. The incident occurred approximately 8 km from the Jeppener station and claimed the lives of 53 people, according to a final report from the Volunteer Fire Department. A total of 34 people died in the accident and the rest died over the days. I would like to express my deep gratitude to the Staff of the Brandsen Station, the Volunteer Firefighters and those interviewed who participated in this video: Carlos Vignola, Daniel Correa and Victoriano Valdéz.
