FGC'S CARRILET TO MANRESA Did you know that Spain is one of the countries with the most kilometres of narrow gauge track in operation in the world? In this video I travel to Manresa on the 'Carrilet', the FGC's R5 Manresa line, which for almost 100 years was the backbone of the industry in Baix Llobregat and Bages in Catalonia. The line was owned by Ferrocarriles Catalanes until 1972, when it was on the verge of partial closure by FEVE. The line covered the routes between Barcelona - Martorell, Martorell - Igualada, Martorell - Manresa and Manresa - Guardiola de Berguedà. The latter was known as the Manresa - Berga Economic Tram or Railway, of which only films from the period remain, as it was closed in 1973. You will also find a brief review of the must-sees of Manresa: the Seu de Manresa, the Ignatian Route, the Pont Vell and the Carrer del Balç.
