In the 1900s, a woman named Agja, the great-uncle of Abdurrahim bey Hagverdiyev, married Habib bey Shekinski, a well-known man of Karabakh, in Shusha. However, after Agja Khanum married, she gave birth to three stillborn children in a row. When she became pregnant for the fourth time, her mother-in-law Ziba beyim told Habib bey, "Take your wife and leave her in her father's house, let her give birth to a dead child there." Habib bey also took his wife Agja Khanum and left her in her father's house. However, Agja Khanum's mother Govhar Khanum was a wise woman. During the birth, she called the best midwife in Shusha and invited two respected ladies of the Karabakh khanate to witness the birth. Thus, the child was born, but it did not cry, move, or breathe. Although they thought it was a stillborn, they waited at the insistence of Govhar Khanum. After a while, the child began to breathe. They consult with midwives and witnesses and hide the birth of the child from Ziba Bey. After 21 days, the child starts crying and returns to normal life. For this reason, Govhar Khanum says, “Habib’s child is a gift from God to me,” and names the child Barat, which means a gift or a blessing. #BaratShakinskaya #OrxanBahadırsoy #RacoolStudio #Cinema #Culture #Baku #Azerbaijan Attention!
