Longer, more frequent and more intense periods of oppressive heat are one of the main consequences of climate change. In this context, urban environments are experiencing an overall increase in their temperature compared to the surrounding areas and are seeing more and more areas where temperatures are increasing, thus creating urban heat islands (UHIs). These UHIs also reveal temperature differences close to those expected by certain IPCC climate scenarios. The studies that we are currently carrying out on UHIs and the newly acquired results on their effects on living things, including humans, have as their underlying objective the identification of solutions, in the service of the territories. ___________________________________ Subscribe to our channel: @poitiersuniv Website: https://www.univ-poitiers.fr/ Follow us on social networks: Facebook: / univpoitiers Twitter: / univpoitiers Instagram: / univpoitiers Linkedin: / universitepoitiers
