The Earth before the dinosaurs by Jean-Sébastien Steyer, paleontologist at the CNRS and the Paris Museum. During this conference, Jean-Sébastien Steyer discusses "The state of the Earth before the dinosaurs". This is an opportunity to discover a little more about what was happening on our planet 250 million years ago. What did the Earth look like before the dinosaurs? How did the great Permian-Triassic extinction impact the evolution of species? To answer, J.-Sébastien travels the world in search of fossils, particularly stegocephalians. His research has been recognized by several awards (Palaeontological Association, Geological Society of France, French National Committee of Geology, Ministry of Higher Education and Research) and his numerous books (e.g. The Earth Before the Dinosaurs, Exquisite Planet, The Lost Worlds) translated into several languages ​​and critically acclaimed (Science Delivers, The Taste of Science). Conference on October 5, 2022 at the Botanical Garden of Greater Nancy and the University of Lorraine Jean-Marie Pelt in Villers-lès-Nancy.
