The Encuentro Canarias-Israel Institute, the Embassy of Israel in Spain, the Royal Economic Society of Friends of the Country of Tenerife and the Sefarad-Israel Center are joining forces to organize a series of activities that will accompany the exhibition in Tenerife of the exhibition “The Hispanic-Jews of Morocco”. This program includes the conference “The Dead Sea Scrolls, the key to understanding the origins of Christianity?”. The conference will be given by the researcher and expert in Comparative Religions, Adolfo Roitman, director of the Shrine of the Book at the Israel Museum, and will analyze the importance of the Dead Sea Scrolls in understanding the origins of Christianity. These writings are made up of a collection of 972 manuscripts. Most date from 250 BC to 66 AD, before the destruction of the Second Temple of Jerusalem by the Romans in 70 AD.
