Hey! In this video I take you for a walk in the snow and talk about the darkness of the Swedish winter. December is the darkest month in the northern hemisphere. Here in my city the sun rises between 9:30 and 10:00 am and sets between 1:30 and 1:00 pm in December. In cities even further north, like Kiruna, the sun doesn't rise for several weeks! This starts to change after the winter solstice which occurs a few days before Christmas (in 2020 it will occur on December 21st). From the 22nd onwards the sun starts to rise earlier and set later and later, until the summer solstice at the end of June (which is the brightest day of the year - we have almost 24 hours of daylight in my city and, further north, like in Kiruna, the sun doesn't even set for a few weeks). In this video I also show you what I was wearing during my walk, I show you how Swedes keep their cars warm in the winter and I tell you some interesting facts about the Swedish winter! About me: My name is Bea Giusti, I'm 25 years old and I moved to a city of 46,000 inhabitants in northern Sweden in 2016 to live with my boyfriend, who is Swedish. I created this channel to share with you a little bit of my life in this very different and remote place. You can also follow me on Instagram, where I post practically every day :) ⨯ Follow me on Instagram too: /beagiusti @beagiusti ⨯ Listen to my podcast: https://anchor.fm/avidaaquifora ⨯ Contact: [email protected] ⨯ How did I create this video?
