About :

Islam is absolutely for women's rights, there is no doubt about it. Islam also stands for human rights, for animal rights and, of course, for people to respect the rights of God. Anyone who denies this, denies Islam. After all, the number of verses and hadiths on this topic is so great that they cannot be ignored. For example, Allah Almighty says (meaning): “Their Lord said to them: ‘I will not destroy the deeds of any of you, male or female. Some of you are descended from others.’” (3:195) Allah Almighty says (meaning): “They ask you to rule on women. Say: ‘Allah will rule for you on them…’” (4:127) And in this verse, Allah speaks about respecting the rights of orphan girls. I believe that such an emphasis on orphan girls as in the Quran is not found in any other ancient religious text. In a Hadith narrated by Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), it is reported that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Women are the sisters of men.” What is meant by this? The Hadith itself is about ablution, and Aisha asked the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) whether ablution for women is the same as for men. To which he replied: “Women are the sisters of men,” meaning that what is obligatory and permissible for a man is also obligatory and permissible for a woman, there is no difference between them unless there is a Sharia text that states so. Most of the Sharia rulings are for both sexes, without exception. There is no doubt and there can be no disagreement that Islam is for women’s rights. But the question remains: is the phrase “women’s rights” synonymous with the phrase “feminism”? This question requires historical investigation. This is what we will do today. The phrase "feminism" came into being in the late 19th century, it appeared in some French texts. At that time, "feminism" was not considered a term related to women's rights. In fact, it was considered a derogatory term, a label that accused women of being bigots. It was only after the 60s or 70s that this term began to be accepted as a school term. If you use a very interesting tool called Google Ngram, type in the word "feminism", you will see that this word was not used until the 60s and 70s to describe the women's rights movement. And the first wave of feminism was racist, for example, Elizabeth Stanton, who organized the Seneca Falls Conference in 1848. She was unhappy with the fact that black men could get the right to vote before white women. Also, Rebecca Latimer Felton, the first woman in the history of the United States to hold the office of senator. She was an outspoken supporter of white supremacy and a member of the Ku Klux Klan. She said, "I can't stand to see a black man vote for my rights." She even supported the lynching of black people. She said, "I'd rather see a thousand black men lynched every week than see them vote for issues that affect me." Muhammad Hijab discusses these and other issues related to feminism.
