He is the son of the late pastor Francisco Assis Gomes and Izabel Nunes Gomes. He is the brother of Heli, who has passed away, and the twin of Essi, who lives in Rio de Janeiro. He learned to read at the age of three and had already read the entire Bible by the age of seven.
