By popular request, I have edited the two parts of our tour of the Castle of Dreams into one and focused only on the exploration itself. It is certainly interesting to experience it all in one go... After more than 1100 kilometers, we have finally arrived at the destination of our dreams - and that is not the only reason we call it The Castle of Dreams! Its history begins in the 12th century. A French noble family built their residence here, which was destroyed by wars over the centuries, but on whose foundations the current castle was finally built in the 18th century. It has never been changed since then and retains all of its original features and the elegant charm of a nearly 300-year-old building. The castle has been abandoned for at least 10 years now and the signs of vacancy are clearly visible everywhere: dust, cobwebs and ensuing decay. In addition to the chapel in the basement, on the floor above we come across a library with thousands of books, including many antiques. But that's not all: we discover a small theater, stroll through the huge marble entrance hall and almost feel like a knight of the Round Table in the dining room. After a lunch break, we explore the upper floors, where the splendor that we were able to experience on the ground floor continues. Here, one bedroom follows the other and you can't stop being amazed. Why is a place like this even deserted? On the top floor, we make further amazing discoveries that we would never have expected - but then we suddenly have to cut our stay short. What had happened? This will be the Urbex experience of a lifetime!!!
