The title is in the survival horror genre and, as a sequel to the successful Resident Evil, laid the foundation for the expansion into a series. Two months after the incident in the mansion, the Umbrella Corporation sends out its own special unit to steal the G-virus newly developed by William Birkin. Shortly after the failed operation, the virus spreads throughout Raccoon City. After Chris Redfield, a main character in the first part, disappears without a trace shortly after his deployment in the mansion, his sister Claire Redfield sets off for Raccoon City to look for her brother. At this point, she does not yet know that the residents there have already mutated into bloodthirsty zombies. At the same time, elsewhere in the city, the newly trained police officer Leon Scott Kennedy arrives to start his service at the local station. He too is surprised by the conditions there. After both characters experience their first contact with the living dead, they meet by chance and flee in a patrol car towards the police station. However, an accident separates them again, but they make their way to the police station independently of each other. It becomes clear that William Birkin was involved in researching the G-virus. Since Claire's brother Chris cannot be found and she learns about the field operation in the mansion, the two decide to flee the city. The escape leads Claire and Leon into the sewers of Raccoon City, the place where the G-virus was released. They finally reach the research laboratory, where an underground train station and train are supposed to help them escape from the city. In the laboratory, where the G-virus was developed, the plot comes to an end with the defeat of the mutated William Birkin. Claire, Leon and Sherry (the Birkins' daughter) are able to escape the city. Chris Redfield, Claire's brother, remains missing. #residentevil #lore #remake #story #residentevil2 #liam #claire
