Mediterranean garden: The colors of the south Landscape gardener: Grüngestaltung und Landschaftsbau GmbH Planning office: Brigitte Röde - Planning office for gardens and open spaces Moderation: Anina Pommerenke and Bernd Franzen Production: Federal Association for Garden, Landscape and Sports Field Construction e. V. Film team: KAMERAD FILM Anina and Bernd meet in a front garden in Düsseldorf and enjoy their first coffee. They copied this from the residents of the house, because they regularly enjoy their front garden, which already offers a wealth of feel-good flair. The holiday feeling can also be experienced in the back area of the garden. Anina and Bernd find a blooming, fragrant and inviting garden there with a high quality of stay for people and animals. When you enter the garden, you can imagine how the greenery is used as an extended living room or home office. Everywhere you can feel the flair of a Mediterranean courtyard - but in the middle of the city. The lightness of the garden is underlined by the materials used. There are shell limestone slabs in the home garden; colored gravel at the water basin; in the front garden and on the parking spaces: small Ruhr sandstone paving stones, the color of which matches the shell limestone slabs perfectly. If you look closely, you will discover a diverse planting that does not appear intrusive. Starting with an evergreen basic framework, Anina and Bernd find robust, heat and drought tolerant and insect-friendly plants that bloom from February to November. Example plants: -Rosemary and sage -African lilies -Silver bush and Mediterranean snowball -Willow-leaved pear and a cypress My dream garden: https://www.mein-traumgarten.de The garden is one of the gardens of the year 2023. The competition is announced annually by Callwey Verlag and supported by the Federal Association of Garden, Landscape and Sports Field Construction e. V., among others.
