The Upper Silesian coal mining region in October 1992. Steam was supposed to be working somewhere on a spoil heap near Wojkowice. We were driving through the town of Bytom (Beuthen) when we spotted a white cloud of steam in the distance. A quick look at the map showed that it could be coming from the spoil heap we were looking for. We were there in 20 minutes. Unfortunately, instead of the Ty45-345, there was "only" the Tkp1-2261 in use, but that didn't detract from the scenery in any way. The tracks laid in the mud of the spoil heap were impressive, and you would never have thought that a train would run here, and the "coal woodpeckers", people who use hammers to knock the coal off the spoil heap. It was like being in another world. But take a look yourself. Have fun.
