WHAT I EXPLAIN IN THIS VIDEO CAN COMPLEMENT BUT NOT REPLACE THE DRIVING LESSONS YOU CAN TAKE IN A DRIVING SCHOOL. Without getting too technical, remember that pulling up the clutch means connecting the engine to the wheels. If we are stationary, lifting the clutch pedal will result in the engine starting to turn the wheels, thus starting the car, very simple. But how should the clutch be lifted, to be able to start the car WELL, without actually stalling the engine? When you lift the clutch pedal, the car should start, but it won't start as soon as you start lifting it. In fact, the first short stretch of travel of the clutch pedal is useless, it goes to waste. But, once you reach a certain point, the car will start to move. And it is at this moment, that is, when the car starts to move, that you need to do the most important thing, that is, block, with your foot of course, the clutch pedal at what we will call the TAKE-OFF POINT. The car then starts to move and you immediately block the pedal. And you keep it there, still, more or less halfway through its travel, until you have gained enough speed, that is, for about ten meters, and when in doubt, it is better to keep it a little longer than less than ten meters. Once the vehicle has reached a certain speed, then you can accompany the pedal to the end of its travel. And remember, accompany, do not ABANDON. If you can, while lifting the clutch, try to keep your heel on the mat as much as possible, to have greater control of the movement. It will be easier to do this by positioning yourself with the seat, as mentioned at the beginning of the video, at the correct distance from the pedals, and not too close as is often done when driving for the first few times. And try to rest the end of your shoe on the pedal, not the middle. In reality, to make a perfect start, you will also have to accelerate. If you drive a petrol car, you will have to accelerate a little already as you start to lift the clutch, to avoid the risk of the engine stalling once you find the cut-off point, that is, the point at which, lifting the clutch, the car will start to move forward. If you are driving a diesel car, you can, as with a petrol car, accelerate as you start to lift the clutch pedal, but if you want you can also make starts, especially the first few times, in a slightly easier way, that is, by concentrating, at the beginning of the start, ONLY ON THE CLUTCH. Lift it, controlling the movement, until the car starts to move forward; at that point block it and only after blocking it start to accelerate. Clutch locked, accelerator pointed, keep everything still there like that and wait until you have gained a certain speed. Then you can release the clutch and accelerate a little more. And don't be discouraged if at first you don't get off to a particularly good start, it's completely normal. It often takes time and practice to become friends with the clutch. If having the clutch as a friend doesn't interest you, there's a solution: the car with the automatic transmission, which doesn't have a clutch. You can also take the driving test with the car with the automatic transmission, which is a thousand times easier to drive, it never turns off, and to start you just have to accelerate. And it also makes driving a lot easier, especially in traffic. Among other things, learning to drive a car without a clutch will certainly require fewer driving lessons in a driving school, and therefore also a lower cost to get your license. There is, however, a drawback: your license will indicate the limitation to driving only cars with that type of transmission, and you will not be able to drive cars with manual transmission. However, once you have gained general confidence with driving a car and traffic, you can eliminate the limitation to automatic transmission by taking a specific driving test with a car with manual transmission. I would think about automatic transmission, which certainly represents the future. However, I am sure that by using the clutch as I explained to you in this video, after obviously a few attempts you will be able to make practically perfect starts and gear changes. #howtousetheclutch #drivingtest #drivingacar
