The cave trip - In the Schertelshöhle: Hike from Weilheim an der Teck to Westerheim on the Swabian Alb, Day 1, Part 2 Route: Reußenstein ruins - Hasental - Schertelshöhle - Westerheim The path stretches on endlessly, but I finally reach the majestic Reußenstein ruins. From here, a breathtaking view of the picturesque Neidlinger valley opens up. Opposite, the steep rock face of the imposing Heimenstein rises. In the distance, I spot the impressive Limburg, a truly magical sight. I feel happy because both the Limburg and the Ekenberg, two important places of power, are active. Slowly, we head downhill into the mystical Hasental. The Burkhardtshöhle unfortunately turns out to be a disappointment, but the Schertelshöhle makes up for everything. Nevertheless, I am overcome by a strange feeling, as if I am not alone in this fascinating stalactite cave. Finally, just before Westerheim, I make a terrible discovery that makes me shudder.
