The first clinical case that I would have brought you for this column on Freud, could only be this: the clinical case of Anna O. A clinical case that in reality was not followed by Freud personally, but by his friend at the time Josef Breuer. Breuer, at the time, in fact, was still using hypnosis, his cathartic method, but it is from the study of this and other cases that Freud was able to abandon hypnosis and Breuer's method, thus discovering, thanks to hysterics, psychoanalysis.
