Including jilchanggu (jichinggae), shepherd's purse, and various wild greens that come out first in spring, water was added to increase the amount mixed with soybean powder and eaten as a vegetable soup. And the barley food of grandmother Lee Yang-ja, who didn't know how to do anything, had to grind it all day long while getting scolded by her scary mother-in-law in the mountains of Gangwon-do in order to barely be able to put it on the table. Let's take a look at the mountain village table of Gangwon-do, which was made with the tears of a bride in Jeolla-do. ■ I hate to even look at it! Kkoldtu noodles!! In those days when it was hard to even see rice, especially in the remote mountains of Gangwon-do where rice was rare... Buckwheat grew well even in the barren land of Gangwon-do and became a precious food for the women of Yeongwol who could not eat even two mal of rice in their entire lives. Grandmother Kwon San-ok ground buckwheat instead of rice to make noodles to fill the stomachs of her hungry children. Since she even made noodles from the buckwheat husks, the noodle strands were black and ugly like maggots. The name 'Kkoldtu noodles' was given because it was so disgusting at that time that I hated to even look at it. In Jeongseon, the noodles are elastic and when you suck up the noodles in the soup, the tip of the noodles hits the bridge of your nose, so you can experience the taste and memories of a food that is not fancy but full of vitality.
