The Biesbosch National Park, a unique freshwater tidal area in the middle of the European Delta, is celebrating its 30th anniversary (in 2024). An area where water has been flowing for over 600 years and the tide has created a valuable nature reserve. The Biesbosch is an important Natura 2000 area and is flourishing again with iconic species, with the osprey as the showpiece. This short film shows in 15 minutes how unique this nature reserve is and how important the freshwater tidal system is for all kinds of plants and animals. The water-rich dynamics are the basis of this valuable ecosystem. The film takes you through all the seasons and the osprey plays the leading role. But the sea eagle has also been given a beautiful supporting role. A particularly beautiful work in which the viewer gets a unique glimpse into the nature of this area. Both above and below water! The film was made on behalf of Staatsbosbeheer. Nature filmmaker Roel Diepstraten filmed in the area at various times for two years. The film was made possible by ECORESULT BV. Marieke Schatteleijn, known from BinnensteBuiten TV, also narrated the film.
