This is the difficult and quite unusual story of the Zündapp KS 750 motorcycle - in this film we do not focus on the history of World War II, but we talk about the motorcycle, technology and the reception of this technological marvel by ordinary soldiers. Although the Zündapp KS 750 is currently a motorcycle slightly less known to the general public than the BMW R 75 Sahara, historically it was a motorcycle on which the military initially placed much greater hopes. In fact, if it were not for the pressure from above to maximize the production volume of military motorcycles of the Third Reich army, probably only the Zündapp KS 750 would have been created, and we would never have heard of the BMW R 75 Sahara. Military motorcycles such as the Zündapp KS 750 or the BMW R 75 played a special role in the army of the Third Reich. They were not only liaison vehicles, but above all they were responsible for supply – on the other hand, their enormous transport capabilities were also a major disadvantage. I am talking, of course, about the vehicle's weight and dimensions. The heavy harness could not move with the grace of a ballerina in difficult terrain and was not as fast as motorcycles without a sidecar. Besides, most of us could probably turn a blind eye to it, if not for one fundamental problem. During World War II, Nazi Germany produced a military car, the VW type 82 Kübelwagen, which not only had much greater off-road and logistical capabilities, but also the cost of its production was three times lower than advanced and technologically complex motorcycles. Does this mean that motorcycles such as the Zündapp KS 750 and the BMW R 75 were completely pointless? You can read more about this equipment on our website: https://www.jednoslad.pl/zundapp-ks-7...
