Springing from the biblical texts of the Old Testament, the legend of the Ark of the Covenant is one of the most famous in history. A tale about the most sacred of relics. The ark that is said to hold the power of God within it. An artifact lost in the sands of time for more than two thousand years that, if found, could change the world forever. The Book of Exodus tells how in the 13th century BC, having become the leader of the Israelites escaping slavery in Egypt, the prophet Moses was given the stone tablets where God wrote the Ten Commandments. Laws that symbolized a pact, an agreement with the Almighty. Relics of immense power that had to be protected in a chest. God demanded the construction of the so-called Ark of the Covenant. The only object described in the sacred texts that granted the power of God to its bearers accompanied and guided the Israelite people to the Promised Land and became the ultimate weapon to defeat their enemies and establish themselves in Jerusalem, with the First Temple raised as a home for the Ark. However, everything changed in 586 BC, when Jerusalem fell into the hands of the Babylonians, Solomon's Temple was reduced to ashes and the Ark of the Covenant disappeared from all biblical and historical sources. Its fate becomes an enigma. An everlasting mystery about the location of the lost Ark, the most coveted of relics. Since the 19th century, many expeditions have undertaken searches to find the Ark of the Covenant. An archaeological discovery that would become the most important of all time. A journey around the world to recover the most coveted object in history. From the caves and hidden chambers of Jerusalem, to the Ethiopian plains and the shores of the Dead Sea, this is the story of the search for the lost Ark.
