#kayakadventure #altmühl #bavaria The Altmühl is Bavaria's slowest river. On its winding way to the Danube, it meanders past Treuchtlingen, Solnhofen and Dollnstein to the episcopal and university town of Eichstätt and flows via Kipfenberg, Kinding and Beilngries to Dietfurt. In August 2023, we, Arne, Paul and Karsten, set off for Franconia in Bavaria to paddle the Altmühl River. Not an easy task with our sea kayaks, which are over 5 meters long. On the one hand, the river between Gunzenhausen and Treuchtlingen is very narrow and natural and on the other hand, the portages are intended for shorter canoes. We sometimes had difficulty getting our boats in and out of the water. For more information about our adventurous 6-day tour in the Altmühl Valley, watch this film. It's worth it. The three kayak adventurers wish you lots of fun.
