Chapters: Introduction: 0:00 - 2:00 Part 1: Stress and anxiety, the differences: 2:00 - 7:36 Part 2: The 6 anxiety disorders: 7:36 - 26:00 Part 3: How to treat anxiety disorders?: 26:00 - 30:53 Do you feel like you are more of a stressed person or is it rather anxiety that invades you on a daily basis? Are you subject to OCD, GAD, anxiety or post-traumatic stress disorder? Unlike stress, which is a normal and natural state that allows you to face real and imminent danger, anxiety is related to the fear of danger, but a danger that is not real. You should know that anxiety and stress feed each other. That is to say, the different factors that cause stress, when they accumulate, they will create an adaptation syndrome, which will engage a kind of vigilance system. Gradually, this vigilance system, which will be more and more present, will generate anxiety, which will also trigger a vicious circle with reactions and physical symptoms such as an accelerated pulse and muscular tension, psychological symptoms which are intrusive thoughts and ruminations and also behavioral symptoms, which will be flight for some and a form of aggression for others. GAD imposes itself in your life with constant and uncontrollable worries, with intrusive thoughts and a feeling of loss of control. Generalized anxiety disorder is not linked to a context or an event, but rather to a state of constant anticipation of everything, hyper vigilance and a tendency to imagine the worst in all situations. Generalized anxiety disorder will set up a form of chronic adaptation syndrome which will deteriorate both your psychological and physical life with several consequences in terms of somatization such as sleep difficulties, an ulcer, dermatological problems or chronic fatigue which set in and create an imbalance in your lifestyle.
