Well, then! Let's look at that legion. The 501st Legion, or also known as the 501st Battalion, which was later referred to as Vader's Fist, was a division whose main members were selected by the Chancellor himself. /Legend/ According to legends, sources mention that the number of clones serving in a Legion can be between 8192 and 12800 units. Although the books published over the years all state this differently. According to canon, the exact number of the 501st is not precisely defined. However, we can get a pretty good idea of ​​its structure. Their leader was Jedi General Anakin Skywalker, who later led them as the dark lord Darth Vader during the Empire. In addition to him, Jedi General Pong Krell was also formally in a leadership role at one time. Anakin's former student, Ahsoka Tano, also led the soldiers of the Legion, not in a battle. There were secondary commanders in the Legion: CT- 7567 or Captain Rex (he until the formation of the Empire) CC- 1119 or Appo (Who, according to the legends, continued to lead the 501st after the formation of the Empire) Then, speaking of legends, there is Commander Bow from the Imperial times. The headquarters of the 501st Legion was on Coruscant, but of course Kamino was their home. According to the Legends, they also had centers on the First Death Star, as well as on the planets Niruan and Bastion. And, of course, beyond all leaders, Palpatine was Chancellor during the Republic, and later, as Emperor, he was the supreme leader of both the 501st and the army. Their founding may be due to the outbreak of the Clone Wars, 22 years before Yavin, after which the canon does not mention them, but according to the Legends, they disbanded 4 years after Yavin, and were then re-founded 9 years after Yavin, although this time they were obviously not with clones... After the Jedi, the guardians of Peace and Order, agreed to lead the clone army, the 501st went to war under the command of Anakin Skywalker. Here, moving forward from the Battle of Christophsis, they were deployed on Teth, Mandalore against the Death Guard forces, and on Naboo alongside a bomb disposal unit.
