After kidnapping the boy, the criminal made threatening phone calls over 60 times over 40 days. Unfortunately, on March 13 of the same year, the boy's cold body was found in a drainage ditch near Hangang Park. The statute of limitations for this case expired on January 29, 2006, leaving it as a permanently unsolved case. ● Frog Boys Incident On March 26, 1991, five elementary school students from Dalseo-gu, Daegu went missing while playing on Mt. Waryong, saying they were going to "collect newt eggs." At the time, a special investigation headquarters was formed under the direction of President Roh Tae-woo, and 320,000 investigators were deployed, but there were no results. Then, on September 26, 2002, 11 years and 6 months after the disappearance, a citizen who had climbed Mt. Waryong to collect acorns discovered the remains of the five children. The statute of limitations for this case expired on March 25, 2006. The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency and the Daegu Metropolitan Police Agency's Cold Case Investigation Team are each reexamining past records and evidence for the two cases. There are high expectations that current scientific technology and investigative techniques will provide new clues to solving the cases.
