Every ten years someone tries to reboot Marvel's First Family in the movies, the latest attempt coming next year through the MCU (whatever that is). Ten years ago it was that crappy Josh Trank movie, 30 years ago it was Roger Corman's trashy movie that was never officially released just so the studio wouldn't have to pay compensation to Marvel. And in the middle of all that, 20 years ago we had Tim Story's movies, which were the only Fantastic Four movies that were more or less successful. So let's reminisce about the days of Fantastic Four (2005) and Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer to remember those times when Chris Evans was the Human Torch, Jessica Alba was the Invisible Woman mistreated by the general misogyny of the 2000s, Ioan Gruffud was the most lame Mr. Fantastic possible, Julian Macmahon was the completely wasted Dr. Doom (but at least he wasn't Robert Downey Jr.) and Michael Chiklis... was a perfect Thing, actually.
