104 Years of Wisdom: Grandma Rina Tells Her Life! In the village of Trovato in Evrytania, we met the 104-year-old grandmother Rina, a woman with an inexhaustible memory and stories from a Greece of the past. Born in Kamaria Agrafon, grandmother Rina lived a life full of difficulties, but also simple joys. A member of a large family, grandmother Rina grew up in an environment where animal husbandry was the main means of survival. He remembers the summers in the mountains, the winter trips to the plains, the tents that became their temporary home. Even her marriage, at the age of 24, was marked by the presence of the rebels in the village. Grandma Rina gave birth to 9 children, all at home, since women did not have access to medical care at that time. She bitterly remembers the subordinate position of women in those years, where her voice had no weight. Despite the difficulties, grandmother Rina remembers with nostalgia the surrounding mountains full of goats and sheep, the flocks of the shepherds, an image that has now been lost. The desolation of the village, the flight of young people to the cities and abroad, fill her with sadness. Although poverty was omnipresent, grandmother Rina emphasizes the healthy diet they had then, based on pure, own products. Her love for her place is great, and she feels proud that her village hosts Timios Stavros.
