Animal husbandry in crisis: Tasos talks about the difficulties and hopes of the sector. In the village of Spolaita Agriniou, we met Tasso, a breeder with deep roots in the love of animals. From an early age, he grew up alongside his father, learning the secrets of caring for goats and sheep. This early contact with animals ignited a flame in him that led him to carry on the family tradition. Tasos shared with us the difficulties of animal husbandry, a profession that requires dedication and daily care of the animals, with no time for holidays or illness. He expressed his dismay at the lack of support from the state, especially after the economic crisis hit the industry which discouraged young people from taking up livestock farming. To cope with the challenges, Tasos also cultivates fields, producing food for his animals, especially due to the drought caused by climate change. His love for animals also extends to his faithful companions, his dogs, especially the Greek shepherd, whom he considers the shepherd's best friend. Despite the adversity, Tasos remains optimistic and proud of his profession. He has invested in modern equipment, such as a milking parlor and a modern stable, and recognizes the important role of his wife, who supports him every step of the way. The story of Tasos is a story of love, devotion and perseverance. He is a man who, despite the difficulties, would not change his choice to become a breeder. His love for animals and the land is the driving force that pushes him to continue, setting an example for those who love tradition and nature. #livestock #tradition #greekvillagelife #village ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• ????⚠️Downloading, modifying and using excerpts or entire videos for any reason.
