The IMS produced a video testimonial by Paulo Gurgel Valente, Clarice Lispector's son, who talks to Eucanaã Ferraz and Elizama Almeida and recalls the celebrities who frequented his home and the first book he read about his mother. The project was launched in 2011 by the Moreira Salles Institute with the aim of making the writer's birthday a commemorative event and part of the cultural calendar of Brazil and other countries. Every year, the IMS and partner institutions' programs are available on the event's special website. #ClariceLispector Clarice Lispector, the name she received in Brazil replacing Haia Lispector, was born in Chechelnik, Ukraine, on December 10, 1920, the youngest daughter of Pinkhouss Lispector and Mánia Lispector. Fleeing communist domination in the country during the civil war (1918-1921) after the Bolshevik Revolution of 1917, the couple was forced to stop in the village of Chechelnik so that the woman who would become one of the icons of Brazilian literature could be born. Less than two years later, with their eldest daughters, Tânia and Elisa, and their youngest daughter, the Lispectors left for Brazil, disembarking in Maceió (AL), in 1922.
