Written in 1932, when the world was starting to boil, and intolerance was becoming state policy, Victor Ion Popa wrote the play "Take, Ianke și Cadâr". The text, initially conjunctural, passed the test of time and became one of the most popular and edited interwar texts in our literature. "Take, Ianke and Cadâr" formulates questions and proposes current answers in a humorous manner, in which human foibles are treated with tender indulgence and fine intelligence resolves potential conflicts. We are not all the same and that is precisely why the world we live in is bearable. Victor Ion Popa's play continues to amuse the audience with its freshness. A text that stands under the sign of love, tolerance and coexistence. The show from 1976, directed by the actor Ion Finteşteanu, is the landmark staging of this text. Since then, all productions have had as a point of reference the masterful play of Ion Finteşteanu, Alexandru Giugaru and Marcel Anghelescu. Romanian television offers you this exceptional staging of one of the valuable dramatic texts of Romanian literature. Today, you can see this text mounted on the stage of Bulandra theater in Bucharest, but also at Tg. Mureș and Chisinau. Unlike other performers, Ion Finteşteanu interpreted lanke's score on the viola, with extreme discretion....Marcel Anghelescu juggled the slang, cutting out instantly, through mimicry, gestures, a memorable type."
