And there were friends who eventually chose to 'drop out' after much thought. However, 'dropping out' was not the same for everyone. The reason Junwoo chose to drop out was 'selective dropout' to enter the university he was aiming for. Since the school grades and regular admission are different, and even one mistake in the school grades means that you cannot enter a prestigious university, for Junwoo, who chose the regular admission, school classes were not helpful in preparing for the college entrance exam. On the other hand, the reason Junhee left school was because he could not keep up with his friends at school due to lack of advanced learning. The gap Junhee experienced at school was a factor that made him constantly ask himself whether it was because he did not put in enough effort or because the gap itself was something that could not be caught up no matter how hard he tried. The reasons for dropping out varied depending on the given environment, but the study environment after dropping out was also very different. Some children studied alone at various types of academies such as comprehensive academies for repeaters, boarding academies, and self-study academies, paying from several hundred thousand to several million won per month, but there were also children who had to study on their own from the beginning, searching the internet and reference books, not knowing what to do first or how to study after leaving school.
