Summary: In this video we will make a TDR for impedance measurement of wired transmission lines and for measuring cable lengths. We will analyze the operating principle of the TDR and analyze the pulse generator circuit to perform the measurement with the oscilloscope. We will measure a 1m long 50ohms RG316 cable and we will measure a 10 meters long 50ohms RG174 cable, we will also terminate the cable with a potentiometer to find the characteristic impedance. Resume: In this video we will perform a TDR for the impedance measurement of cabled transmission lines and for the measurement of cable lengths. We will analyze the operating principle of the TDR and we will analyze the pulse generator circuit to carry out the measurement together with the oscilloscope.
