The EBS special project for reading aloud for the growth of my child's literacy - The fourth story of your literacy, 'Part 4 The Secret of Sound That Changes My Child' will be broadcast on Tuesday, March 16 at 9:50 PM. This broadcast will reveal how to raise my child to be a child with a strong literacy foundation. Do you know the sound value? The core of literacy growth Literacy is the foundation of all learning and an increasingly important future ability. In the previous Part 3, we looked at cases where learning was difficult due to not understanding the sound value of letters. The core of literacy growth, which is the ability to read and understand text, lies in 'sound value'. So when and how can we develop sound value? There is a period when the ability to recognize sound value grows explosively. When is that? In Part 4, the reason why we need to focus on sounds before letters for literacy growth will be revealed. The key to growing the root of literacy, word play So how can we develop the root of literacy? Professor Choi Na-ya of the Department of Child and Family Studies at Seoul National University chose 'reading out loud and word play' as the key secret to the growth of literacy. Reading out loud increases the experience of sounds, and interest and understanding of letters develop. Through word play, the experience of manipulating sounds such as adding or subtracting sounds is repeated, and the sound value can be understood. Reading picture books and word play are essential to develop the roots of children's literacy. So what should we do? You can check out various tips for word play with our children on the broadcast. The result of the reading out loud project? A special project for the growth of children's literacy! Your Literacy conducted the reading out loud project with 23 families with 4-year-old children for the past 3 months, reading out loud every day. However, problems were found everywhere from the first day! What changes have occurred in the parents and children who read out loud every day for 12 weeks?
