High Tatras, Belianske or West Tatras (Roháče)? Which do you like best? I can't decide. But I love this entire mountain range. Lonely climbs to the Tatra peaks at sunrise, all-day hiking through the most beautiful valleys or watching the night sky from the most remote corners of the Tatras. These are memories for me from early childhood to adulthood. The Tatra Highway or the red mark across the Tatras has probably been used by everyone who has ever hiked in the Tatras. Whether it was a walk past Štrbské pleso or a trip to one of the peaks - the red mark stretches across the entire length of the Tatras from west to east and connects the most famous locations of this amazing mountain range. Personally, I didn't expect much from the Tatra Highway. First of all, it doesn't go over almost any peak and even those Tatras go around the bottom. So I decided to enjoy the Tatra Highway a little differently, in my own way. I went to the start just before the trail closure, at the end of October 2024, and spent three full days on it.
