Singvogel is a television film from the crime series Tatort on ARD and ORF. The film was produced by Norddeutscher Rundfunk and first broadcast on May 23, 1994. It is Tatort episode 292. For Chief Inspector Paul Stoever (Manfred Krug) it is the 22nd case. For his colleague Peter Brockmöller (Charles Brauer) it is the 19th case he is investigating. Inge Holland's body is found in the port area. Her husband is the criminal Harald Holland, who robbed a bank a year ago and is currently in prison. The loot has not been found to this day and this is a reason for Holland's fellow inmates to harass him again and again. If he told them where he was hiding, they would leave him alone. Inspectors Stoever and Brockmöller go to the prison to get possible clues about the perpetrator(s) from Holland. The news of his wife's death hits him hard, especially as she had only just visited him the day before. Stoever suspects that the perpetrator is after Holland's millions of loot. But Holland doesn't dare to suspect anyone in particular, as there are mafia-like structures here in the prison. If Stoever manages to get him transferred to another prison, he would testify. Holland is under massive pressure from his fellow inmate Ronny Schneider and doesn't dare say anything as long as Schneider is pulling the strings here...
