Aracaju was one of the most anticipated destinations in this series Flavors of the Northeast and we were very happy to discover this paradise of beautiful beaches and its rich gastronomy #aracaju #sergipe #flavorsofthenortheast The first thing we do when we arrive in a new city is to visit the local public market or the local produce supply center. We believe that it is the easiest and quickest way to absorb the local culture through food, getting to know the foods and talking to the locals. When we arrived in the city, we went straight to the Albano Franco Market and were impressed by its work, simply huge, super organized and divided into sectors. We really enjoyed visiting the space where the couscous makers make regional sweets such as saroio, pé de moleque nordestino, beiju quente and malcasado. From there, we went to see the work of Chef Meg and her award-winning restaurant (it was one of the highlights of our visit to Aracaju), certainly our favorite place to eat home-cooked food with that homemade touch. We tried the shrimp in the underwear and the virgin girl, the house specialties) and they were simply fantastic! Late afternoon is perfect for a snack and you can't miss the most famous and traditional pastry shop in the capital, Pastel da Rua Lagarto, where they make delicious meat, cheese and chicken pastries. It's delicious, but we've had better. Acaraju is the capital of crab ???? and you can't leave without trying this delicacy that represents not only the city but, we could say, the state of Sergipe. The people of Sergipe have the custom of eating crab with flour and vinaigrette, and this combination is delicious, and this delicacy served at Bar do Simeão was delicious! We stayed at the Aruanã Eco Praia Hotel, in a privileged location facing the beach and close to all the main restaurants and beaches around! To finish off this delicious gastronomic experience, we tried the grilled goat ribs, simply very juicy and tasty. We will definitely go there again on our next visit to Aracaju to enjoy a typical Sergipe barbecue with lots of grilled goat. We would like to thank our friend Gustavo, a local resident who helped us with tips on some of the places featured in this video! @gustavocosstaa #aracaju #sergipe #saboresdonordeste Places visited: Albano Franco Municipal Market: Espaço Beiju: Northeastern peanut brittle, wet beiju, saroio and malcasado Caçarola Restaurant - temporarily operating at Espaço Zé Peixe ????
