But many consumers feel under pressure. FIBER OPTIC REPRESENTATIVES: INTRUSIVE AND AGGRESSIVE? Consumers report negative experiences with distributors of the fiber optic tariff. The method: Stir up fear that the old connection will soon be switched off or that fiber optic connections will soon become very expensive. CONSUMER ADVISORY BOARD WARNS AGAINST AGGRESSIVE SALES METHODS Consumers are increasingly complaining about pushy behavior when trying to sell fiber optic connections. FIBER OPTIC INSTALLATION WITHOUT WARNING A construction company turns up at Gudrun Bichtemann's without warning to install the fiber optic connection. Deutsche Glasfaser then explains that the construction partners do not register for the drilling in the garden - even though this is stated in the terms and conditions. COMPLAINTS ABOUT DEUTSCHE TELEKOM AND DEUTSCHE GLASFASER The most common complaints we receive from Germany are directed at Deutsche Telekom and Deutsche Glasfaser. The providers often pay their sales representatives commission depending on the amount of the gigabit contract, says Michael Gundall from the Rhineland-Palatinate Consumer Advice Center. In some cases, older people were talked into signing expensive internet contracts that they did not actually need. Deutsche Glasfaser did not comment to Marktcheck on the remuneration or commission of the sales partners.
