Carnival reigns there all year round, and the Saturday after Ash Wednesday is actually one of the busiest business days. For many foolish dignitaries, the search for the right regalia can't start early enough. The Arenz family tailors dream costumes to measure - their customers pay up to 3,500 euros for this and even travel from other European countries and overseas. And tears often flow between the velvet and silk. "It is our job to make every prince and princess as beautiful as possible," says managing director Pia Arenz. Every finished costume must then be received by the happy customers by November 11th at the latest.
