As we know, the car alarm has several commands for activating locks, windows, turn signals, radio and others, but it does not specifically have an output to manage this lighting of headlights, so it is necessary to make an adaptation with relays and this needs to be very reliable and durable. To do this, I used two easily found relays: the DNI0102, which is a normal 4-pin auxiliary relay, and the DNI0305, which is a GM interior light timer relay from the 80s and 90s, but can be used for adaptations like the one we're going to do. Basically, the timer relay will receive the negative alarm unlock pulse on pin S and at that moment it will emit a negative signal on pin 87 for 9 seconds. The thing is, this negative signal is not compatible with the car's headlight or taillight connection, which is activated with positive, so it is necessary to use another auxiliary relay to convert this signal. Pin 87 of the timer relay must be connected to pin 86 of the auxiliary relay, while pins 85 and 30 must have a positive signal, and then pin 87 of the auxiliary relay will have a positive signal for 9 seconds. After the system is assembled, simply connect pin 87 of the auxiliary relay directly to the positive wire of the headlight or taillight. I personally prefer to connect it to the taillight because this way it also illuminates the rear. To avoid having to run a wire to the bulbs, you can look for the wire in the headlight switch or turn signal switch or at the fuse box outlet. The relays together cost around R$65 and the service takes about an hour to perform, so the total amount that can be charged to the customer is R$200 so that they can have the convenience of a modern car in their car, regardless of its age.
