When he reached his well-deserved Swiss retirement, Dragan Babić from Vitez could choose one of his ten professions to be his hobby. However, he accidentally decided to make handmade hazelnut sticks for walkers, recreationalists, and mountaineers. He breathes soul into his sticks and turns them into works of art that are increasingly in demand. The most common symbols on his sticks are olive branches, wheels, crosses... Some of them he paints with his favorite animals, writes the names of children, the places they come from. He paints a sheep, a horse, or some other animal that the customer loves or does. In addition to handmade unique sticks, Dragan and his wife arrange and shape various types of trees and ornamental plants. We visited them in Krčevine near Vitez, so see what we recorded.
